After saying goodbye to the beautiful Brasilia, the artists from the National Ballet of China arrived at the second station of the Brazil tour-- Rio de Janeiro in the afternoon of local time of May 21st. The noisy streets, the blazing sun, old and modern architectures in Rio seem like a unique way for this passionate city to welcome the Chinese ballet emissaries. From May 23rd to May 26th, the National Ballet of China and artists invited from China National Peking Opera Company will perform four Chinese ballet Raise the Red Lantern at the oldest municipal theatre of Rio de Janeiro. The day before the performance, Xu Gang, the artistic director assistant of the National Ballet of China was invited to bring a ballet master class to the dancers of the Rio Municipal Theatre Ballet.

The "Red Lantern" is going to be "lit up" in Rio de Janeiro
In the afternoon, artists of National Ballet of China came to the Rio Municipal Theatre for the rehearsal of the ballet Raise the Red lantern before its Brazil premiere, and the upcoming Swan Lake. The rehearsals were an hour longer than expected. On the stage, the staff of the stage production department of the NBC had been busy for two days, thus the stage installation work was drawing to an end. Artists of National Ballet of China have never stopped their pursuit of art. At 8:00 p.m. on local time of May 23rd, the "red lanterns" will be "lit up" in Rio de Janeiro. Please stay tuned!
