Last weekend, National Ballet of China once again presented two French modern ballet classics—Carmen and L'Arlésienne—at Beijing Tianqiao Theater, adding a touch of romance to the city’s rainy night. These masterpieces by renowned choreographer Roland Petit have been in the NBC’s repertoire for 20 years since their debut in China. Passed down through generations of dancers, they stand as enduring classics and a testament to the profound artistic bond between NBC and "Grandpa Roland."
