An original fairy-tale ballet The Nine Colored Deer!

The Nine-Colored Deer is the first original fairy-tale ballet created by National Ballet of China for the teenagers. It is specially performed by the young students of the Dance School of NBC. After the successful premiere at the Beijing Tianqiao Theater in April 2018, it receives a warm welcome from children of all ages. With the special performing form of "young dancers" dancing for the "young audience", the conception and the choreography of The Nine Colored Deer, as well as its cast and the stage presentation, made this work the groundbreaking fairy-tale ballet in the 60 years history of National Ballet of China!

Once talked about the original intention of creating this ballet work, Feng Ying, the Director of National Ballet of China and the headmaster of the Dance School of NBC, said:" The Chinese ancients believed that honesty is the law of nature and the pursuit of honesty is the rule of life. On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Reform and Opening-up, as well as the eve of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of National Ballet of China, the Company spares no effort to launch The Nine-Colored Deer, the first fairytale ballet specially designed for children, with the faith of carrying forward the traditional Chinese virtues and cultivating the good qualities of honesty and trustworthiness from an early age. The Nine-Colored Deer is performed by the students of The Dance School of NBC, for whom it is the first time to take on their responsibility of a full-length ballet officially. Hope the fairytale ballet The Nine-Colored Deer can bring you the pure innocence of the children and the ethos of benevolence, righteousness, wisdom and beauty. Hope the contrast between the Nine-Colored Deer with beautiful heart and the profit-seeking and ungrateful image of Snake-Charmer could arouse the pursuit of truth, good and beauty as well as the conscience for love and hate in the deep hearts of the students."
