In January 2018, the National Ballet of China, led by the director Feng Ying, visited 12 primary and secondary schools in Luanping county, Hebei Province within three days. They delivered the local teachers and students public ballet popularization courses which were tailored to the local condition. The courses have won the Company good reception and praise. At the same time, artists of National Ballet of China have fully realized the plight of aesthetic education development in rural primary and secondary schools. Although the conditions of rural education have been improved year by year with the strong support of the Party and the government, the shortage of art teachers and teaching resources still severely restrict the opportunities for rural children to receive artistic edification. We have seen the desire in children's eyes and the great role of art in the spiritual grow of children. When leaving Luanping at the end of the activity, every artist of the National Ballet of China can feel an unfulfilled responsibility on their shoulders. In this deep feeling, Li Yang, choreographer of National Ballet of China, had a strong creative impulse.

At the beginning of 2018, Feng Ying led the artists of National Ballet of China to deliver public ballet lessons for children in primary and secondary schools in Luanping county.

The Bakeshiying Town Central School at the foot of Jinniu Mountain is the school where the story prototype lives.

With the support of Feng Ying and other leaders of the Company as well as the cooperation of YouChange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation's project "The One", the creative team gathered a group of artists from the Company and passionate volunteers from all walks of life, such as photographer He Zhiwei. With returning to Luanping for many times to collect creative materials, the team worked together to complete the shooting and production of the micro film The Track with their warm feelings and sense of responsibility for rural children, regardless of payment. Wang Qimin, the Prima Ballerina of National Ballet of China, who will meet her 20th anniversary of stage performing this year, starred in the micro film, which is also her screen debut.

In the eyes of professional filmmakers, Li Yang's first micro film may be a little immature, but the strong sense of responsibility for rural aesthetic education and the spirit to explore the artistic boundary of the creative team are worthy of encouragement and praise.
