On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, the National Ballet of China brought its classic ballet The Red Detachment of Women to the stage of the Opera House at the National Centre for the Performing Arts from July 30 to August 2. With this Chinese ballet classic that has spanned more than half a century, the Company paid tribute to the People's Liberation Army and honored the revolutionary forebears.

Highlights

The NBC Symphony Orchestra, together with the specially invited Chorus of China Ex-serviceman Art Troupe, gave heartfelt renditions of the beloved songs from the ballet. The interweaving of orchestral music and choral singing conveyed a spirit of passion and perseverance to every corner of the theater.

With the closing notes of the iconic melody "March Forward," this run of performances drew to a successful conclusion—yet the footsteps of the "Red Detachment of Women" will never cease.
