Resident Conductor of National Ballet of China

After his graduation from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Liu Ju joint National Ballet of China as the Resident Conductor in July 1997. He has conducted almost all the repertoires of the company and has travelled to UK, France, United States of America, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan as well as many countries and regions with the company.

Besides conducting ballets, Liu Ju has collaborated with the numerous orchestrasincluding Symphony Orchestra of China National Opera House, Chinese Film Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Broadcast Symphony Orchestra,Taiwan Eva Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and so on. In July, 2000,he was invited to conduct a concert in the Lincoln Centre in New York, America.In the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Air Force Art Troupe in July, 2010, he conducted the large scale national opera, Sister Jiang in NCPA. Liu Ju achieved the 'Outstanding Conductor Award' by Chinese Ministry of Culture in 2011 and 2013.

Cooperated with the Orchestre national d'Ile-de-France Liu Ju conducted Swan Lake by National Ballet of China in Théatre du Châtelet in September, 2013. While in July, 2015,he conducted six performances of Giselle in Orchestra del Teatro CarloFelice as well as The Red Detachment of Women and The Peony Pavilion by National Ballet of China in Lincoln Centre. In August, 2018, cooperated with the Primorsky Stage Orchestra Liu Ju conducted Natalia Makarova'sLa Bayadère by National Ballet of China in Russia.

Liu Ju'sstyle of conducting is full of passion, elegant, rigorous and precise.  Heis also able to interpret different styles of works from both China and overseas, and has demonstrated exceptionally strong capabilities in his musicalexpression.
