Chinese New Year in Hong Kong|Festive Ballet Rings in the Spring, While Tradition Warms the Heart

On January 24 and 25, at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the artists of NBC presented the festive ballet Chinese New Year to the audience in Hong Kong. Since its premiere 15 years ago, the ballet has become an annual tradition, bringing holiday cheer to audiences across China and serving as a captivating window into the charm of Chinese culture while earning widespread acclaimthrough its international tours.

The auditorium resounded with thunderous applause as the Hong Kong audience was deeply immersed in the unique charm born from the fusion of traditional Chinese culture and Western ballet.

The Hong Kong Ballet generously provided rehearsal halls for NBC. Young students from the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet also participated in the performances with meticulous rehearsals under the direction of NBC's répétiteurs and dancers.

After the performances, Director Zhu Yan warmly presented picture books to the children who played the “Little Gold Ingots”, encouraging them to continue their dedication to dance.

NBC will next head to the Shaanxi Opera House to present the romantic masterpiece Giselle on January 30 and 31. See you in Xi'an!
