On July 18 and 19, Swan Lake—the brightest jewel in the ballet crown—was performed for two consecutive nights at the CPAA Chengdu Grand Theatre. The dancers of the National Ballet of China took multiple curtain calls, as waves of applause surged toward the stage again and again. Chengdu, a city where leisurely living and vibrant local life blend in perfect harmony, was immersed those summer nights in the lingering dream of Swan Lake.

Highlights

On July 17, the National Ballet of China held a unique ballet lecture at the CPAA Chengdu Grand Theatre, led by the ballet master Wang Qimin.

Next, the NBC's tour troupe will head to Urumqi, where on July 23 they will present the Journey into the World of Ballet, followed by performances of The Red Detachment of Women at the Urumqi Grand Theatre on July 24 and 25.
