Preview of NBC Symphony Orchestra Concert | New Year’s Blessing Concert “Youth”: Various Music for The XXIV Olympic Winter Games

At 19: 30 on January 9, Zhang Yi, the renowned conductor and Music Director of the National Ballet of China will lead the NBC Symphony Orchestra as the conductor to present the New Year's Blessing Concert themed "Youth" with the joint efforts of the famous violinist Huang Bin.

The concert will start with the Chinese orchestral classic Spring Festival Overture, followed by Lyrical Tone Poem by the Russian composer Alexander Glazunov.

Director of Orchestral Instruments Department of China Conservatory of Music, the famous violinist Huang Bin will perform jointly with NBC Symphony Orchestra for two of the violin masterpieces, i.e., Melody by the music master of Russia Tchaikovsky and Tzigane by the French composer Maurice Ravel.

The last repertoire in the first half will be The Solidarity of the Chinese Nation by composer Yu Jingjun.

The second half will start in Flavour of Hebei, and then the Hoedown, the most well-known part in ballet Rodeo, Londonderry Air by the UK composer Percy Grainger, and then Pomp and Circumstance Marches by composer Edward Elgar.

NBC Symphony Orchestra will perform the Farandole in this concert.

The next will be "theme work" of the concert Youth by the famous contemporary composer Shi Wanchun at the turn of the century. And for the last, we will present the Javelin by American composer Michael Torke.
